Η πεντάθυρη έκδοση του νέου Skoda Rapid αναμένεται να πάρει μια πιο Station Wagon μορφή και να κυκλοφορήσει με την
ονομασία Spaceback. H πρακτικότητα παραμένει στην κορυφή των προτεραιοτήτων και αυτής της νέας έκδοσης του Rapid,
με την εξωτερική εμφάνιση να παραπέμπει στη λογική του A3 Sportback. Οι μεγάλες πίσω πόρτες κάνουν πιο εύκολη την
είσοδο στο σαλόνι, ενώ αυξημένος αναμένεται να είναι ο χώρος αποσκευών, ο οποίος θα ξεπερνά τα 550 λίτρα του απλού
Rapid. Όπως είναι αναμενόμενο οι κινητήρες και τα υπόλοιπα μηχανικά μέρη παραμένουν κοινά με το Rapid που κυκλοφορεί
ήδη. Οπότε αναμένονται εκδόσεις TSI βενζίνης 1.2 και 1.4 λίτρων, με απόδοση 86,105 και 122 ίππων και εκδόσεις diesel TDI
1,6 λίτρων με απόδοση 90 και 105 ίππων.

[spoiler]Even more practical Skoda Rapid Spaceback estate set for Frankfurt Motor Show
This is the Skoda Rapid Spaceback, an even more practical estate version of the Rapid that’s set to make its debut at this September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
As you can see from this test car, the Spaceback will feature the same nose as the Rapid, keeping the simple, angular shapes for the lights and bumper that were first introduced by the Skoda VisionD concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011.
• Skoda Rapid reviewHowever, the rear of the car shown here has been disguised by using the rear light clusters from the previous generation Skoda Fabia Estate and adding a Fabia badge to the bootlid.
Look closer and you can see two different lines where the rear bumper meets the bodywork. The real one is partly covered and runs horizontally back from the rear wheelarch before sloping up to meet the tail-lights.
The lights will be almost triangular, as they are on the Rapid hatchback, when the Spaceback is revealed in production form.
The final piece of the design that is covered is an upkick to the D-pillar that will run parallel to the top of each tail-light.
The test car does feature the finished tail-gate, however. This will swing up to reveal a huge boot that should comfortably eclipse the current Rapid hatchback’s figures of 550 litres and 1,490 litres with the rear seats up and down respectively.
When it arrives here, the Spaceback will use the same engine line-up as the Rapid, and feature the same S, SE and Elegance trim levels. Prices are likely to be slightly more than for the Rapid, so expect a Spaceback S 1.2 to start at around £13,500
